Unilever – nice set of results

2012 FIRST HALF YEAR RESULTS

Turnover up 11.5% (I’m impressed), core EPS up 6%.

Polman says: “we are making progress in the transformation of Unilever to a sustainable growth company. … we are further strengthening our position as *the* emerging markets consumer goods company.”

strong growth in emerging markets and sluggish growth in the developed markets

Now the most important number of them all: 2012Q2 divvie £0.1892 ps payable 12-Sep-2012. As a reminder, 2011Q2 divvie was £0.1962 ps.

I told my mum this morning, and she was very happy with those results. Yield is OK, but PER looks a bit toppy to me. Market reaction has been enthusiastic to say the least, with shares up 4.1% at the time of writing. Surely that’ll settle down later on in the day.
