Windows gives me eyestrain. Linux does not

I’ve noticed that at work I seem to get eyestrain when I use my computer, which has Windows XP on it. On my home computer, which has Linux Mint on it, I do not get eyestrain.

A couple of weeks ago, I compared Windows and Linux side-by-side. Then I noticed: the fonts on Windows were blocky, with white contrasting with the blackness of the fonts. Maybe the white was to aid contrast, but I definitely felt my eyes straining more looking at a Windows screen compared to a Linux screen.

There we have it.
